Chambers and Partners, Writer and Reasearcher
       As a member of the busy Chambers Unpublished team, I extrapolate information and write detailed editorial reports. I also am heavily involved in daily editing of transcripts, using my copy editing skills to correct mistakes. Writing intricate analysis based on a clients feedback to clearly outline their position in the market is a core part of my day.
Movellas, Community Manager
      Fast paced and highly autonomous role, leading day to day operations at a YA online storytelling community in digital publishing. Launching writing competitions and negotiating with publishers on competition details and prizes. Writing press releases for the company projects, a teenager was recently published by Random House via Movellas. I selected the teen judge for the YA Book prize, in association with The Bookseller. I am judging Project Remix, a competition hosted by Movellas with The Book Trust and Malorie Blackman. Relationship building between publishers and third party companies is a key component for my role. I use my degree in creative writing daily to lead online writing workshops and build content for blogs.
Bloomsbury Plc, Children’s Editorial dept. Internship
            Honed manuscript proofreading skills, reporting directly to the title’s editors. Full manuscript reading and copy editing, including line editing. Sole decision maker for the initial contracts for Bloomsbury Spark submissions. Used Biblio daily, quickly becoming an expert user, and a point of contact to help more junior colleagues.
Bloomsbury Plc, Adult Marketing dept. Internship
I was invited back to the Marketing department to provide maternity cover after a period of work experience. As a trusted member of the team I took charge of larger projects on my own.  Editing copy on cover proofs. Creating a competition in association with Woman&Home for a luxury trip to promote Raffaella Barker’s new book, From A Distance. Building material for The Bookseller previews. The March 2014 sales conference involved a close relationship with several of Bloomsbury’s imprints and across several departments.
Profile Books and Serpent’s Tail. Internship
            Producing readers reports every week for Andrew Franklin and Hannah Westland, covering both non-fiction for Profile Books and fiction for Serpent’s Tail. Considerable experience in ideas research for non-fiction books. Contract comparison experience and writing permissions contracts.  General administration and organisation of the office.
Peters, Fraser & Dunlop. Books Internship.
            Researching possible book ideas and potential clients. Building information packs for Broadcasters and Speakers Department. Updating the PFD website with wordpress for the news page/blog.
The Bright Group International. Internship
            Structural edits of plots and story boards, advising on plot and writing feedback for the literary agents. Launching online campaigns to build a relationship with authors and artists.
Johnson and Alcock. Internship
            Full manuscript reading with a view to structural edits on both adult and middle grade fiction.  Holding meetings with agents about author manuscripts with discussion points and suggestions.
